I’m becoming more & more addicted to shopping at Etsy.
Just what is Etsy? Etsy is a social commerce website focused on handmade or vintage items as well as art and craft supplies. According to the website, their vision is to build a new economy and present a better choice: Buy, Sell, and Live Handmade.

Swiss Strawberry Dot Tea Cups

I found these for my mother’s birthday. Shipping was only $7.00 too :D !

Salt and Pepper Strawberries

Salt & pepper shakers for my Mom’s strawberry kitchen found here.

I might even open up a little shop there one day.
Anyway, I just thought I would share this with you all

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter :) ! I pretty much went wild and either called or texted all of my friends from America while we were on our way to my mother inlaw’s house for dinner. Matt’s family does some amazing things with sweet potatoes. Someday I’ll have to get around to asking for a recipe or two, although my cooking is absolutely horrible  :weird: !

Lately I have been feeling creative. I felt inspired by this lady’s idea to take an ordinary pot and sponge a bit of paint onto it using a stencil. Of course mine didn’t turn out as well… but the sloppiness adds a little something, I think! There is always more room for improvement.

Flower Pot

I used little Easter egg ornaments that I found at Micheal’s to decorate the little roses. Yes, that is a surround sound speaker behind the flower pot. Yes, that is a plush poo. And yes, the flower pot is ontop of a subwoofer – probably not the best place for it T_T .

Happy Easter!

I’m pretty stoked. The Carnival glass fruit bowls that belonged to my great grandmother came in the mail all in one piece. Now I can finally relax. I’m always a bit nervous when fragile things are shipped, especially antique heirlooms! I think it makes for a lovely Easter display. The bowls remind me of tulips.

In my late night etsy lurking, I found this pattern for a Peep’s candy rabbit scarf ^_^ .

Wow! how cute is that!?

“One false step and you’ll send him on an hour long pseudo-philosophical rant that nobody understands like a cut scene out of metal gear solid.”

Recently I found a picture of my husband that makes me smile :D .
Back in September, Matt and I started out on an adventure to Mount Pleasant. The original intent was to find a winter coat for myself, but we ambled along admiring the beautiful Victorian mansions, visiting yard sales, and taking pictures of graffiti with our cellphones.

We eventually ended up seeing Tamara, Val, and Chris on that day too. I found a gorgeous yellow coat and had some of the best gelato ever – bubblegum and chocolate. Deadly, but mmm…
We should do stuff like that more often :D !

Painting

Last night, for whatever reason, I was inspired to paint one of the ceramic pieces my grandmother sent me for Christmas. :D   It was oddly therapeutic! Sprinkles and hot pink paint splattered on a blue bird was something I originally hadn’t in mind, but I think it works, what about you?

I found a place nearby on Cambie St. where you can paint ceramics just like when Matt and I were kids! Once you have finished painting, you can leave your ceramic piece for glazing & firing. It will be ready for pick-up in 3-5 days. The shop has a catchy name too: http://www.crankpots.net.
